Why Morning Routines Matter (and Why I Love Mine)
Some people think routine is boring, but I happen to love it. To me, routine means ease. You don’t have to overthink every decision or rush to catch up with your day. It’s grounding, simple, and helps set the tone for everything that follows.
My mornings always start the same way, with a glass of warm water, lemon, and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. It’s my little ritual for gut health. It wakes up my system and feels like a reset from the inside out.
After that, I take my supplements: vitamin C, vitamin D, antioxidants, vitamins for hair, skin, and nails, and anti-inflammatories. It’s something I do every single day to keep my immune system strong and my energy levels steady.
Then I make my hot matcha tea. I use steamed almond milk and add my favorite collagen and colostrum for immunity, along with a hint of cinnamon. I whisk it all together until it’s frothy and smooth. The process itself feels calming and sets the tone for the day ahead.
Once I’ve finished my matcha, I move my body. Every day, I do something active, even if I’m not in the mood. If I’m tired, I might go for a walk or do Pilates, but I always move. It’s not about perfection, it’s about consistency. Moving my body clears my mind, lifts my energy, and reminds me how good it feels to show up for myself.
After my workout, I take a shot of wheatgrass before I make my coffee. It’s quick, energizing, and feels like a boost of pure nutrients. Then I make my coffee, one of my favorite parts of the morning. I love having coffee at home and look forward to it every day. I usually sip it while catching up on emails or making calls. It’s something I truly enjoy and a small comfort that sets a positive tone for the rest of the day.
Then I make my fresh greens juice. I always use the same ingredients, of course, routine. Organic spinach, kale, celery, cucumbers, broccoli, and lemon. I make it in the morning and save it for the afternoon as part of my snack. It’s refreshing, healthy, and makes me feel alive. It’s like giving my body a glass of pure goodness.
When it’s time for breakfast, my favorite is usually a bowl with yogurt or cottage cheese, flax, chia, and always a sprinkle or two of Haley’s Pantry granola, any flavor. Sometimes I’ll switch it up with a smoothie topped with granola for healthy fats and a little extra protein. Whatever I’m eating, I always include a side of mixed berries. They’re packed with antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin C, and they help fight inflammation while supporting healthy skin and digestion.
My routine has become second nature, not because I have to, but because I want to. It makes me feel good, focused, and ready for whatever the day brings. Routine doesn’t have to be rigid or dull. It can be the foundation that gives your life rhythm, balance, and peace.
