Budwig Protocol Diet Breakfast Bowl

brudwig protocol diet with grain free granola

My husband and I are hooked on this healthy concoction. He has been eating it religiously for 11 years and I recently picked it up and I now am obsessed. It is so delicious and keeps me satiated for hours. The mixture needs to be made fresh and eaten within 20 minutes for the best benefits and results.

Remember, this is just a theory. There is no research that the Budwig diet can prevent or treat cancer, but some people swear by this diet as an additional form of therapy. Its also important to eat a healthy diet consisting of grass-fed meats, small amounts of animal products, fresh fruit, vegetables and fibre. The Budwig diet has been working for us so if anything, it’s worth a try and it is a yummy alternative to other breakfast options. My favourite pressed cottage cheese is M-C Dairy and it’s local! It’s also organic and grass-fed.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of organic low fat pressed cottage cheese (you can use organic cottage cheese or yogurt as well). You can use 2 1/2 tbsp if yo want more.
  • 1 tablespoon of organic cold pressed, refrigerated flax seed oil
  • 1 tablespoon of organic flax seeds
  • 1 sprinkle of organic cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of Haley’s Pantry Original Granola

Directions:

  1. With a plastic spoon, put 2 tbsp of pressed cottage cheese in a breakfast bowl and pour in the flax oil.
  2. Mix them together really well until the flax oil is not visible. In a coffee grinder, grind the flax seeds for about 10 seconds until they become very fine.
  3. Pour over the cottage cheese and sprinkle in the cinnamon. Mix really well.
  4. Take the flax off the sides of the bowl and keep mixing it into the mixture.
  5. Add 2 tablespoon’s of Haley’s Pantry granola and mix again until combined.
  6. Add the fresh berries and bananas. I use organic strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries as they are full of antioxidants. I add sliced bananas as well if I have some that are not so ripe. Tip: Bananas are best eaten when they are not so ripe as they contain less sugar. Eat with a spoon and enjoy! I love this because it keeps me satiated and full for hours.
  7. Sit with a cup of coffee or a hot matcha tea and enjoy!

XO, Haley
